Practice: Good practice habits will tremendously increase your rate of improvement! Beginning students should practice 20-30 minutes at least 5 days of the week. More advanced students might practice 45-60 minutes 5 to 7 days of the week. This will ensure that you are prepared for each lesson and allow us to work together effectively. Practice may include vocalizing/playing, listening to  recordings of singers/players, score study, and memorization. Singing in the shower or car is unlikely to help you achieve your maximum potential, so scheduled practice is crucial.

Materials:  Please bring the following materials to ensure you are prepared for each lesson:

-Sheet music or music book(s) (recommendations available)

-A notepad/paper and pen or pencil

-A water bottle

-A recording device (most phones work fine)

**Students are expected to listen to the recording of each lesson, take notes, and use those notes to inform their practice throughout the week. This ensures that your weekly practice produces maximum results.

Performances: Each semester, students will have the opportunity to perform in recitals. These performances give us an attainable goal which helps to focus our practice and lessons. Additionally, they help refine our artistic abilities in a safe and fun environment while learning from and supporting our peers.
